Candida Glabrata is another species of Candida that is commonly found on the human body. Like all Candida species, Candida glabrata is helpful to the body and is used to feed the natural bacteria found in our gastrointestinal tract.
Treatment of Candida Glabrata
As with all other forms of Candida, Candida glabrata can begin to grow in large quantities when there is a fluctuation in the natural flora in the human body. When this occurs, an overgrowth can lead to an infection. In addition, Candida glabrata can cause an infection throughout the body and is not centralized to one area.
Like most Candida, the symptoms of Candida glabrata are fairly similar. In fact, usually doctors will need to do a culture to identify the species of Candida that is occurring in the overgrowth.
Candida glabrata infections and overgrowth have the following treatments:
- Panic Attacks
- Mood Swings
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Dry Skin
It can affect anyone, regardless of age but is more commonly seen in patients with a weakened immune system.
Treatment of Candida glabrata is the same as it is for most other kinds of Candida overgrowth. A treatment of antifungal medications is used to get the Candida glabrata overgrowth under control. However, if the overgrowth is invasive, surgery is occasionally used to remove the excess Candida.
